About Me

Background

My father is a physicist, and my mother an LCSW (a Social worker, who does psychotherapy). I grew up as my father worked on his PhD and I spent time at his lab. I also watched my mother gain her Master’s in Social work.

I was surrounded by literature about the principles of the universe and the mind. As I grew up and became aware of my own emotional struggles I chose to dive further into psychology to obtain my PhD and understand the science behind how people heal emotionally. My interest in Yoga has also inspired me to integrate principles of Mindfulness into my practice.

My Approach To Therapy

Even before obtaining my PhD, my foundation has always been grounded in science and applying psychotherapy approaches that actually work and are maximally effective.

I strive to help you heal as quickly as possible and to give you as many practical tools you can use on your own. As a result I use IFS (Internal Family Systems), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and EMDR/BLS in my practice.

IFS is groundbreaking in its tremendous power to heal. An IFS session is unlike any other type of standard psychotherapy experience and has to be experienced to be understood. I heard about IFS for a few years till I took a training, but when I saw a demonstration in my first IFS class, I was literally awestruck.

In the 30 years I had been in the field (and a trainer to other PhDs), I had never witnessed anything as powerful or as deeply healing. It combines the best of all previous psychotherapy methods and then takes one giant leap farther.

What I like to do for fun:

I enjoy hiking in California’s redwood forests and Boogie boarding at the beach.

I have been practicing Yoga and Meditation for decades. I am good at Chess and Ping Pong.

Quotes I find inspiring:

“A person who feels good, does good.”

I came across this quote in my teenage years and it made a lasting impression.

It is an ancient Chinese saying that psychologists have verified: When you feel good (from the inside out), the choices you make tend to result in a good life. This is particularly true in the opposite direction: When you feel bad, you tend to make impulsive decisions, resulting in choices that are counterproductive and that often undermine your life goals.
